Hi Everyone!
The bahamas is BEAUTIFUL! I'm very Excited to be here. I wish I could stay here for longer, but you know, a vacation only lasts so long. Tomorrow I will be boarding my ship which I'm very eager to do. I got a glimsp of it when we were taking the taxis to Paradise Island. But then on our Ferry over to the Straw Market in downtown Nassau, all we saw were Carnival and Disney cruise ships so I was a little dissappointed, I need to find out where I'm supposed to be going! Eeeee! Alright so a short breakdown of what I have been doing.
Weds, Mel and I got our flavored Rum and an array of juices. The boys down here don't know what "not interested means" though. Everywhere we go there is a chorus of whistlers and TERRIBLE pick-up lines. After taking a nap, we walked around the resort and then had dinner at Jonny Rockets! (it was the cheapiest place open at 8pm. pathetic I know). Thursday was our pedicure/manicures, paddleboating (both pictures above), lazy river and of course a day of the spa! I met a bunch of people on Semester At Sea so I am really excited, though i'm definitely going to be "the poor kid" though they all seemed really nice! We will have to see. I'm just grateful to be going on the trip, I don't need to waste my time with the snobby kids! Yesterday we were conned into going to this "free breakfast" that wasn't really free. Though it wasn't nearly as expensive as it would have been if we had gone on the resort. After getting our deposit for some city tour back because we were disgusted with this guys tactics, we got on the Ferry and went to the straw market. Bought lots of goodies- myself some jewlery and photo album, and some bracelets for the nieces. Then went back to the market on Paradise Island and bought my two ornaments, a cute purse and a wrap skirt. Very exciting. Then we slept for the rest of the day! Today we woke up at 8am (like every other day!) and packed our bags except for what we will need in the next 24 hours and then mel took a shower while I downloaded and backed-up all my pictures on my flash drive. The plan for the rest of the day: lots of pictures of the resort, lots of water time and last but certainly not least our most expensive meal of the trip to celebrate this wonderful excursion!
Tomorrow's plan: 8am (though probably closer to 9am) check-out of resort, take taxis to harborside to board cruise ship! At some point mel will join me on the ship hopefully to checkout my new establishment and then unfortuntely departing!
Well I should go take my shower to start on my own adventure for the day!
Love and Miss you all!
~Jennifer

Sounds like you are having a great time. Don't be quick to judge the "snobby rich kids," you never know how much money someone really has! Just have fun experiencing life!
Hi Jen-
Make sure you are using a lot of sunblock!!! The sun is much stronger down there. Agree with Coreen- enjoy your experience and do not compare it to others. There are always people that can do more or do less than you. Do not let the competition get the best of you. Do you really know these people yet- maybe they are just acting that way. Well before I start an entire lesoon on sociology- you should know!! Just have fun..xxoo
